  • Mr. Merouane Boudraa successfully defended his doctoral thesis under the supervision of Pr. Akrem Bennour and Pr. Mekhaznia Tahar. Congratulations!

  • As part of the Doctoral Students Evaluation Week and in celebration of Science Day, the LAMIS Laboratory organized an event focused on enhancing research visibility and academic excellence. The first plenary session was delivered by Dr. Djeddi Abdelghani, who is responsible for the university's visibility cell, discussing the importance of publishing in high-impact, indexed journals to improve university rankings. Researchers from the laboratory who published in A and A+ Web of Science journals during the 2023–2024 academic year were honored, recognizing 26 outstanding contributions. Special recognition was given to PhD student Frik Brahim for being named "Most Scientifically Productive Student," after publishing three A-ranked journal articles and participating in five Scopus-indexed international conferences in under four years. The event continued with research presentations and discussions, where PhD students received valuable feedback from evaluation committees. The day concluded in the afternoon.

  • The "Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity Challenges" event brought together 14 teams from Algerian and Tunisian universities. The first day was dedicated to training workshops and the official launch of the competition. The second day focused on teamwork to develop cybersecurity solutions, followed by solution presentations and evaluation by the jury after the lunch break. At the end of the event, the final rankings were announced: • 1st place: University of Kairouan (Tunisia) • 2nd place: University of Constantine 2 - Abdelhamid Mehri (Algeria) • 3rd place: University of Tebessa (Algeria) • 4th place (tie): University of Jendouba (Tunisia) and University of Larbi Ben M'hidi – Oum El Bouaghi (Algeria) The event was a great success, promoting skills development, experience sharing, and highlighting the importance of cybersecurity in today's world.

  • A call for applications for students from national and Tunisian universities, as part of the 5+5 program, to participate in training workshops and cybersecurity competitions, which will take place on April 8 and 9, 2025.

  • Mr. Hama Soltani successfully defended his doctoral thesis under the supervision of Pr.Amroune Mohamed and Dr.Bendhib Issam. Congratulations!

  • At the initiative of Dr. Hanane Djellab, knowledge-sharing and coordination meeting between members of the LAMIS laboratory, the Signal Processing Laboratory, and researchers and representatives from Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in Saudi Arabia.

  • Mr. Rami Amira successfully defended his doctoral thesis under the supervision of Dr. Fareh Hannachi. Congratulations!

  • Ms. Douaa Yousfi successfully defended her doctoral thesis under the supervision of Pr. Gattal Abdeljalil & Dr. Chawki Djeddi. Congratulations!

  • Yousuf Islam from Central South University, China delivered an insightful presentation to laboratory members on chaotic systems and their practical applications in image encryption techniques.

  • Miss. Atmania Islah successfully defended her doctoral thesis under the supervision of Dr. Zitouni Saleh. Congratulations!

  • Co-organizing a national conference on the use of AI in healthcare. PhD students and research professors from our laboratory participated with contributors from the healthcare sector to lead the proceedings of this scientific meeting.

  • In the context of international cooperation, our laboratory welcomes Yousouf Islam, a student at Central South University in China. With the Vice-Rector of the University Pr. Souad Neffar. Yousouf has previously published two renowned articles with our doctoral students.

  • The participation of our colleague Dr. Salima Bourougaa-Tria in the training and exchange program in South Korea, aimed at 450 Algerian startups selected from among 7,000 as part of a program initiated by the President of the Republic.

  • Evaluation day for computer science PhD students to discuss progress and challenges, with the presence of supervisors and other laboratory members.

  • A study day on the applications of Artificial Intelligence for Medicine (AI4Me'2023) co-organized with the mixed team headed by Pr. Amroune Mohamed, December 19, 2023. Researchers and medical specialists have shared their knowledge and concerns in the field of medical artificial intelligence. Two speakers presented communications related to the domain, namely Prof. Christos Davatzikos (University of Pennsylvania, USA) and Dr. Chaimaa Aoiche (LAMIS laboratory). Doctoral students from the laboratory also presented posters to summarize their research work in the field.

  • A National Conference on Artificial Intelligence: From Theory to Practice (NCAI'2023). December 20-21, 2023. Fifty papers in various fields of artificial intelligence were presented over two days by participants from several national universities, both in-person and online.

  • The Algerian-Tunisian exhibition for students innovative projects, December 21, 2023. Almost 40 innovative projects were presented by students from national and Tunisian universities in a first edition.

  • The mixed team headed by Pr. Amroune Mohamed: publish in a specialized and highly impactful journal the first Arabic cutting-edge breast database capable of employing ML and DL algorithms to detect and classify breast cancer. Compared to other digital mammogram databases, the Laboratory of Mathematics, Informatics and System (LAMIS) images have better resolution and are in full-field digital mammography format.   • Online meeting with Prof. Christos Davatzikos (University of Pennsylvania, USA) and some doctoral students from the laboratory to present and discuss their research work.

  • Online meeting with Pr. Acharya Rajendra (University of Southern Queensland, Australia) ,and some doctoral students from the laboratory to present and discuss their research work.

  • Training day for doctoral students in mathematics with the invited professors Ghanmi Abdeljabar (Djeddah University, KSA) and Mahfoud Mechergi (Tunis University, Tunisia).

  • Our laboratory has contributed to the training of master's students supervised by members of the laboratory concerned by ministerial decree 12.75 on innovative startup projects. Prof. Amroune Mohamed, Dr. Salima Bourougaa, Dr. Haouam Med Yassine, Dr. Issam Bendib, Dr. Yahiaoui Ayoub supervised more than half of the projects that received the label of innovative projects at our university.   • Our laboratory organized during this Mathematics Week 6 public conferences on mathematics and its applications given by Pr. Salem Abdelmalek, Pr. Kamel Haouam, Dr. Nebti Abderrazek, Pr. Louafi Tayeb, Dr. Amri Chirine, Pr. Boubaya Djamel, an open competition on a reflective question, and a mental calculation training workshop organized by Mr. Imed Aimen (PhD student).

  • Within the framework of celebrating the activities of the University Week for Artificial Intelligence, which was approved by the Ministry of Education this year to coincide with the celebration of Science Day on April 16, the faculty of Exact Sciences, Natural and Life Sciences, through our laboratory, and the Department of Mathematics and computer science, organized a diverse program that extended from April 16 to April 19, 2023. The program included:
  • Lectures on the applications of artificial intelligence in health, natural language processing, smart cities, and materials science presented by specialized professors: Pr. Amroune Mohamed, Dr. Mekhaznia Taher, Pr. Chemmam Fayçel, Dr. Khedhirir Abderrazek & Dr. Slimi Hamda.
  • General or specialized training workshops organized by Dr. Gasmi Mohamed, Dr. Khelifa Boudejemaa, Hama Soltani (PhD student) & Sarra Samet (PhD student).
  • An open competition in artificial intelligence applications organized by Pr. Chawki Djeddi & Pr/ Gattal Abdeljalil.

  • Speed-Startup'2022, the first edition of the event, Graduation Project: The seed of a start-up company, organized for the benefit of students with projects of a social and economic nature by LAMIS laboratory.

  • Presentation of the Huawei Academy of the University of Tebessa, whose LAMIS laboratory participated in its installation.
